HIROMI MURAI
Biography
Hiromi Murai (1999, born in China) graduated from Japanese painting BA at Kyoto City University of Arts. She is currently pursuing her MA in painting at the Royal College of Art.
Hiromi’s work is a quest for inner peace in today's materialistic world and uses the tradition of artist as alchemist to balance of the mind and body; a unison that creates a meditative state to paint - the paintings being the space in which to meditate.
Using minerals, metallic pigments, ash, and botanical ephemera she uses materials that connect her to the earth; the idea of dissolving and becoming aligned with nature.
